The above quotation describes the unfortunate incident which befell one of Milly’s travelling companions as the Harris’s headed to India as part of their World Tour. Miss Dashwood likely never imagined that extreme bathing would be one of the activities she would partake in during her sea voyage.
The Harris family took great care with their hygiene. George Harris invested in this traveling tub for fear the family would not find adequate bathing facilities abroad.
