Inscribed on box, “Rattles and fangs of rattlesnake, Texas ’07.”

Ronald Harris’ career as a mining engineer took him to various parts of the world beginning in c.1900.  Among the items he collected were this snake rattle and several snake skins.  The handwritten inscription on the bottom of the small box in which they are stored indicates that Ronald was working or travelling in Texas in 1907 where he collected the rattlesnake rattle.
