The statue is a cast iron copy of an original renaissance fountain by artist Andre del Verrocchio and represents a winged male cherub holding a dolphin. The sculpture stands 72 centimetres high by 42 centimeters wide. The piece was donated to Eldon House by Lucy Little in 1984 to commemorate the construction of the building in 1834 by her great-great grandfather John Harris.

The three Indigenous Nations that are neighbours to London are the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation; Oneida Nation of the Thames; and the Munsee-Delaware Nation who all continue to live as sovereign Nations with individual and unique languages, cultures, and customs.
