Tourism In London

Londoners have always been interested in their history, with recreation spaces being established as early as the 1840s. Many of London’s most iconic heritage attractions have roots in the 1950s when London was celebrating the centenary of becoming a city.

Heritage sites, museums, parks, and concert halls make up a large portion of London’s recreation scene and contribute heavily to the city’s culture and economy. In 2023, London saw an 11% increase in tourism from the previous year totalling approximately $1.088 billion spent. Yet, for many Londoners, the idea of being a tourist in their own town is unheard of, and the opportunity to experience London’s culture is limited to when out-of-town guests are looking for places to see.

This exhibit aims to showcase some of London’s greatest tourist attractions, from museums to parks, to markets and concert halls. There is so much to see and do in London, Ontario, and the celebration of London’s Bicentennial will hopefully inspire locals to get out and enjoy this beautiful city.
