Victorian Crafting for Kids

With 2025 set to be The Year of the Child! Eldon House in devours to incorporate the topics regarding children and their roll, impact, and importance within our community both past and present. This workshop series is specifical designed for children to have the opportunity to learn about traditional Victorian art and hobbies through crafting. Please register for a 1-hour crafting session and after, you are welcome to explore London’s oldest residence through a self-guided tour and marvel at one of the city’s heritage gems!

January 5 – Corking and Finger Knitting

February 2 – Paper Quilling

March 2 – Thaumatropes and Victorian Games

April 6 – Egg Painting

May 4 – Dried Flower Crowns

September 7 – Cyanotype Photography

November 2 – Pomanders

  • Registration is required.
  • Walk-ins are available while supplies last. Please contact to confirm availability before arrival.
  • All children and adults attending the event must purchase a ticket. Also, when making your purchase, please indicate how many children under 2 will be participating. These guidelines ensures that staff can prepare our craft supplies accordingly. Thank you.
  • Adults are not permitted to leave children 15 and under unattended.
  • Time slots are 60 minutes maximum.
  • Some crafting session are self-guided with instruction provided to guardians with minimal direction required. Most actives are directed by the museums Historical Interpreters.
  • As a heritage site there is no public parking. there is public parking in and around the museum. Click here for Google Maps of Eldon House 
  • No refunds are permitted past the 48 hours mark prior to the event. Tickets are transferable to family or friends by providing their name to in advance. To do this, please call 519-661-5169 or email info@eldonhouse.ca to confirm.
  • Please be aware that in the case that the event is postponed or canceled guests will be notified in advance as soon as possible.

The three Indigenous Nations that are neighbours to London are the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation; Oneida Nation of the Thames; and the Munsee-Delaware Nation who all continue to live as sovereign Nations with individual and unique languages, cultures, and customs.
