Join us for a specialty lecture exploring the natural world since the industrial revolution, with attention placed on the perception that controlling nature is progress. Eldon House welcomes nursery owner and gardening consultant and designer, Paul LaPorte to present on this topic. This presentation examines the impact of European settlement on Ontario’s ecology during the 18th century. A discuss on the history of arranging the natural world into the familiar system of scientific names and will also be given.

This specialty lecture would not be possible without financial support from TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.
